16th July 2010

Running late for work but time for quick snap before dashing out of the door. I also managed to change the jacket to black and throw on a long necklace too - cream feels a bit overpowering against the red for some reason. Very indecisive of late.

The shoes are not that clear but are very comfy Russell & Bromley peep toe wedges. Apparently the shoe to be seen in this summer (Guardian fashion pages) and I have to admit that they are rather gorgeous although they do dye your feet black. I've said it before but I love a high heel you can run in.

Been feeling rather freaked out by the red hair but Bun has said I have to give it a month. So that's what I'll do then!

7th July 2010

Bunny had a shock when he arrived home from work to find me sunbathing in the garden. I've wanted to be a red head for years (big Karen Elson fan while growing up) and had made a secret pact with myself that once my braces were off I'd do it. I forgot to mention that in last post - braces have gone so already every outfit looks better as I now have a smile I can bare to properly share. I had not really planned to go red on this day but my hairdresser persuaded me so I thought what have I got to lose. I do love it but I'm not sure yet if it's here to stay long term. My fringe needs to grow a little to start with and also managed to lose a chunk of eyebrow which might be cool with the kids but not so cool with me.

The sunglasses are my 'Wang' sunnies according to Bun. Alas they are actually Whistles not Wang. I think the black frames work with the red hair better than they would with brown.

Being a red head has meant not too surprisingly ransacking my wardrobe to establish what works best colour and style wise. The red really makes my blue eyes stand out more and blue clothes work really well. It feels a safe place to start so here I am in a little denim look stretchy dress from Whistles. Clearly having a melt down as I try to absorb more of the light into my hair to keep it shiny.

Currently I'd like this style of dress in every colour possible and it would become my wardrobe staple - seeing me through from day to night and season to season as I add tights or flip flops or boots etc. I like the idea of having a capsule wardrobe consisting of one style but I know as soon as I did that I would start to crave sequins, fringing, lace and ruffles.

I can hardly look at this outfit. What was I thinking? I blame it on the heat. In my head this worked - all romance and meadows on a sunny day. Individually I like most of the pieces but I think it might be time to bin the white dress or at least save it for when I have a tan and am on the beach barefoot.

So not to dwell on the fact that I went out in public like this let me bring your attention to my beautiful earrings. These are by http://www.beccajewellery.com/ which I picked up at a friends jewellery party the other night. What a lovely way to shop. Bright Blue Bag is Alexander McQueen and is perfect contrast to my big LV I use for work each day.

18 June 2010

I am a Professional Woman. I live in The City. I have a lucntime appointment at Paramount with a very important client. Now once I finsh blogging I will go and meet my Professional Woman friend at Pizza East and drink wine, talk about boys, work, life.
That's kinda what I feel this outfit says............
New-ish Zara Shorts and old H&M top. Old Urban Outfitters heels - very high / very comfy.
Does anyone else ever feel like they are playing at being a grown-up?

14th June 2010

Saturday night turned into Sunday morning and I sighed to Bunny 'why does this always happen?' Monday was not a good day - especially not a good day to have to go into the studio and do lots and lots of work. What did I wear - god knows and yes, I probably looked really crap. But what kept me going is my Monday knickers! Like many girls I had these as a kid and adored them - could I wear Friday on Monday? Absolutely not! Surely that would bring very bad luck. And what about if I was knocked off my bike and someone saw? I realise that I'm a bit of a sucker purchasing Stella McCartney days of the week pants. Falling into that nostalgia trap but it's interesting to think of where I was then and where I am now. Then I was little and innocent and my mummy bought my probably rather cheap pants for me. Now I am older and more knowing (I won't say wiser) and prepared to spend silly money on posh underwear. Obviously fact it comes in a box with compartment for each day totally justifies this.

12th June 2010

Can you guess what was happening on this day? Am I English - not sure? Do I like football - possibly not. Was I prepared to get into the spirit of things - well ok then. Did the occasion call for an appropriate outfit - hell yeah. Initial plans had been to embrace an African theme with choice of clothing for friends World Cup Food & Drinks & Fun Party. Living in Peckham means there is no shortage of amazing fabric shops to choose from but then I had a moment and thought (hang on) 'this is England' (glad you noticed) and I should be supporting England (revelation) so last minute change of plan meant red and white was only way to go.

Red and white alone did not seem enough though. I wanted a really english girl look and felt that the denim jacket summed that up in many ways. I realise all nations wear them but it felt decidedly English and sporting without heading into tracksuit territory. I remember getting my first denim jacket aged around 12 - it was French Connection and my mum had a matching one (how cute). I thought I was cool as fcuk in that. Remember it well and actually only gave it away recently as style at time meant it was rather baggier than the close fit ones we sport these days and I really was not going to wear again (although in about 1 year if this blog is still going I'll probably be wearing one that I've just paid £70 quid for from top-shop).

Teamed with converse and frilly white socks for an added dolly-pop of frivolity. Football? What football?
